Our client recently requested a comprehensive service on one of their vessels following a propeller shaft replacement.
The primary goal was to assess torsional vibrations and overall vibrations across the entire propulsion line. This is crucial, as significant changes to the shaft line can alter the system’s natural resonance frequencies, potentially leading to shaft failure or excessive vibrations that could shorten the system’s lifespan.
